Aeronautical Information Service

Area of responsibility

The Aeronautical Information Service is responsible for the collection and dissemination of information for the entire territory of the Czech Republic and for the relevant airspace.

Responsible services

AIS is a part of the Air Navigation Services of the C.R. and ensures flow of information necessary for safety, regularity and efficiency of international and national air traffic. It consists of AIS Headquarters (publication, cartography, printing and sales department) and International NOTAM Office (NOF). At all Czech international airports, where ATS are provided by ANS of the C.R., the function of AIS unit is delegated to ATS Reporting Office which is a department of the Aerodrome Air Navigation Services.

Aeronautical publications

The aeronautical information is provided in form of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package consisting of the following elements:

• Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP)
• Amendment service to the AIP (AIP AMDT)
• Supplement to the AIP (AIP SUP)
• NOTAM and Pre-flight Information Bulletins (PIB)
• Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC)
• Checklists and summaries

AIS also issues domestic aeronautical publications which are not part of the Integrated Aeronautical Information Package.

System requirements and configuration for users

System requirements and configuration for users were minimised during the creation of this AIS data Internet presentation. On the other hand it was necessary to preserve current form of data the same as in the paper documents. As a result, current version is designed for following configuration:

• MS Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8
• MS Internet Explorer 8.0 or higher
• Adobe Acrobat 6.0

Recommended procedure:

• Install MS Internet Explorer, set up for the Internet
• Install Adobe Acrobat

Basic functions and structure for pages of AIP, AIC a AIP SUP:

Control elements (bars, buttons, ....) are in form of "html" pages proper data are in "pdf" format. It is necessary to have the program Adobe Acrobat Reader to read these data.

The window of the net browser is divided into two frames:

• AIP navigation frame<
  It is placed on the left side of the browser´s window. The AIP navigation frame is designed to show clearly links to the parts of the Internet presentation of AIP. The contents of this frame may change depending on situation.

• Data frame
  This frame shows information chosen by the user, data.
