Why?

In accordance with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 716/2014 (Pilot Common Project (PCP)), which requires Free Route Airspace (FRA) to be implemented by 1 JAN 2022, and following the European Route Network Improvement Plan (ERNIP), ANS of the Czech Republic facilitated Free Route Operations under the name FRACZECH.

Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2019/123 lays down detailed rules for the implementation of air traffic management (ATM) network functions and repeals Commission Regulation (EU) No 677/2011.

In accordance with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 2021/116 (CP1 Regulation; also repealing Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) No 716/2014), which requires final FRA, including cross-border FRA with at least one neighbouring state and FRA connectivity with TMAs, to be implemented by 31 DEC 2025, FRACZECH merged with SEE FRA on 23 FEB 2023 and the term FRACZECH ceased to exist from that date.

Within this airspace, flights remain subject to air traffic control. (ERNIP part 1)
