What is FRA applicability in the Czech Republic?

What did FRACZECH stand for?
- Free route airspace of the Czech Republic from 25 FEB 2021 till 22 FEB 2023.
- Succeded by expansion towards SEE FRA.
What does SEE FRA stand for?
- South East Europe Free Route Airspace.
- Members as of FEB 2023 are: Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Slovakia.
What does SECSI FRA stand for?
- Southeast Europe Common Sky Initiative Free Route Airspace.
- Members as of DEC 2021 are: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia, Slovenia.
Is cross-border planning allowed?
- Yes, within SEE FRA all inner CTA boundary points are considered as FRA Intermediate points (I).
- Yes, it is allowed to file trajectories in the flight plan between:
- Vienna CTA and Praha CTA or Bratislava CTA or Budapest CTA,
- Warsaw CTA and Praha CTA or Bratislava CTA,
- Sweden CTA and Warsaw CTA
regardless of the common FIR/UIR/AoR boundaries between the above-mentioned CTAs.
What is "one-point-per-FIR" rule?
- To minimize the impact on Air Traffic Management (ATM) systems, at a minimum, the route portion in Item 15 of the Flight Plan (FPL) should contain at least one Free Route Airspace (FRA) significant point ((E), (X), (I), (A), or (D)) related to each Flight Information Region (FIR).
Where does the ATS route structure apply in the Czech Republic?
- Only below FL095 excluding CTA1/TMA Praha.
- In the CTA1/TMA Praha, a network of DCT segments was created (RAD, Annex 3B).
- Above FL95 (excluding TMA Praha), only FRA procedures are in force.
Is planning through active military area allowed?
- No. Flight plans through a planned active areas/FBZ will not be accepted.
What does NPZ stand for?
- Non-standard Planning Zone, and it is an airspace of defined dimensions within which the planning of flight trajectory is either not permitted or allowed under certain specified conditions.
What does GT stand for?
- “GATE” airspace, and it is a specific airspace volume defined and used in the RAD for ATFCM purposes of better capturing the traffic in the FRA.
